Baseball Gaming Deep Dive, Part 3
Here’s an update into my deep dive down the gaming rabbit hole. I am a Phillies fan and gamer, as well as a writer and researcher in topics on Medium ranging from AI to art, Bitcoin to photography, and of course gaming.
In January, I decided to start on the journey of building a Top 100 team on a mobile game called MLB 9 Innings. I gave my reasons and my plan in a blog here.
In April, I provided an update describing how I learned a lot of things that I didn’t know and provided a somber update here. Now here is the next update.
MLB 9 Innings
MLB 9 Innings provides six different forms of gameplay:
Battle Mode
League Mode
Club Mode
Friend Mode
Arcade Mode
Player vs. Player
There is also gamified resource-based team management — collecting cards with certain features and upgrading them. Team building has multiple different layers and this nerd enjoys it.
Are mobile games addictive? For me, this one is. If you are someone who enjoys these things, like me you will find the game downright addictive:
- Math (economics, statistics, finance, etc.)
