Bitcoin versus gold. What’s the better investment?

I see this debate a lot on Twitter (now X) a lot.

I see Bitcoiners angrily shouting down gold and the likes of Peter Schiff shouting down bitcoin as having no intrinsic value. Who is right in the debate? Is anyone right?

It is completely idiotic to be forced to pick one or the other over peer pressure on social media. It’s as silly as being forced to drink either “water” or “coffee” for the rest of your day.

Instead, let’s inspect some of the characteristics of bitcoin, gold and stocks, which are three commons investment classes. I’ve put this together in a grid.
