I am happy for you but as a realist I must be the Debbie Downer here.

Great job listing out the daily struggles of a writer, and fantastic job pushing through and achieving success. These are some great productivity tips.

But let's get real. Focus will not make you $720,000 a year as a writer. 99% of writers for top-level media organizations don't make that. Based on the obvious limitations of Medium's gross revenue, this would be limited to less than 5 people if even realistic for an entire year. I know you didn't make this claim, I am just pointing out the logical math.

I don't consider myself a top-level writer but I am certain I am in the upper 10%. I've been awarded "Top Writer" in 8 Medium categories over the past 2.5 years. I've amassed close to 3,000 followers and have made between $20 and $200 per month in that time.

This post comes across as misleading because it cannot be repeated by everyone or possibly anyone on here. As written, it appears that you have some internal Medium tricks, sheer luck or something else on your side. I apologize if this comes across wrong - I don't mean this as a personal attack. I am happy for your success as a writer. But one doesn't simply make $60,000 a month on Medium with "focus".

Sorry, I am not buying it. This comes across as click-bait.
