My Biggest Wins and Biggest Losses as a Writer

I started writing publicly just over 3 years ago. It started right here in Medium on February 14, 2021 with this post about Bitcoin. It’s lead to several jobs, 15+ paid clients, more than a dozen TV appearances, over 600 written works, my own website and over 20,000 social media followers.

I thought it was a good time to record what I’ve done right and what I’ve done wrong.

Here’s a list of my biggest wins and losses. If you’re an aspiring writer I hope this can help you learn from my mistakes and give you a boost to strive for bigger wins.

My Biggest Wins as a Writer

  1. I’ve made an average of $70,000 per year over the past two years from writing, which helps pay some of the bills.
  2. I’ve been able to write over 600 blog posts, press releases, articles, and other pieces of content in 3 years. Some has been paid, some gain me a nominal amount of royalties or commissions, and some for free. But I have accomplished writing these works, which gives me a sense of accomplishment.
